ShADE LA: VR EXPERIENCE

Contribution: VR Development/Design, Repo Administration, UI/UX

For the ShiftSC Hackathon for Social Good, which was sponsored by Google, Snap, and Sony, my team and I wanted to tackle the problem of shade inequality in Los Angeles. Neighborhoods such as Pico Union have a severe lack of shade, causing ground temperatures to reach 100F in certain places. In this 14-hour hackathon, we designed a VR experience where the player must complete quests around an LA city block without overheating or getting dehydrated. The game is extremely challenging, and the sun is ruthless, alluding to the need for more trees and shade.

Our team won first place out of 80 participants. Read the LinkedIn Post Here →
